Volunteering

Joining Candlelighters as a volunteer is a rewarding experience. Being a part of a child's reason to smile while facing difficult situations brings as much joy to the giver as to the recipient. Currently, our office is located inside Sacred Heart Children's Hospital so volunteering at the hospital is limited. We have many outside events that require volunteer assistance at different times throughout the year. We also need volunteers for fundraising events. Some current needs are as follows:

• Shopper for teen "poke" prizes
• Child care for Parent's Support Group the third Thursday of every month 6 PM-7:30 PM
• Upcoming fund raising events
• Family events

Donating

In 2009, Candlelighters distributed 40 New Patient Bags for newly diagnosed children

 
In 2008, 57 New Patient Bags

In 2007, 53 New Patient Bags

In 2006, 48 New Patient Bags.

In those bags, families were provided with information, practical items, financial assistance, toys, and miscellaneous items.

Candlelighters relies on the generosity of a diverse group of donors. Any donation will help. From toys to office supplies to much needed dollars.
