The Celebration of Life began in 2008 by Stephanie and Andy Brown as a way to bring awareness to all kids battling cancer. They first learned of Candlelighters and childhood cancer when their daughter Samantha was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2007. The CELEBRATION OF LIFE is held in September as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month....because kids can't fight cancer alone!
This event is about much more than a disease. It is about LIFE and appreciating every moment of every day. When childhood cancer enters your life, the world changes. Ordinary things that we look past every day: a smile on a child's face, a giggle, a cloud shaped like an elephant, the feel of a cool breeze, a flower so fragrant you can taste it,
all begin to be appreciated for the beauty they bring. Looking in to the eyes of a child with cancer, you can never go back to taking anything for granted - especially LIFE. And you want to celebrate it for the beauty and pain and love and sorrow and joy that makes it a gift always to be appreciated. So join us as we celebrate LIFE and make LIFE a bit better for kids with cancer and their families. LOCATION: Knitting Factory Concert House919 W.
